Painted all night – with a Cherry on top

I’ve started a new portrait of my friend Amy.

I’m really putting  a lot of focus into this one. And so far it’s paying off because this is becoming my favorite painting of mine. I’ve hit a state of change recently. All I want to do is further my techniques and grow. I’m going to try and do so the best I can with this painting.

I’ve still got to add to the background. I’ll be detailing her more later tonight. I’m having a blast playing with all of the color :)

On a side note: It would be wonderful if I could finish this in a few days! I’m hoping to include this in an upcoming show.. However this is in oils, and the drying time might play a factor in when I can hang this somewhere haha :)

I’ve titled this painting “Cherry” after her nickname.

20x24in - Oils  - Not done!

Seven months and still not finished..

It’s not that it’s taken me a whole seven months to paint this. It’s taken me seven months to figure it out!

I’ll get it right soon I swear! :)

Happy to say I’ve made progress tonight. It finally feels like its going in the right direction.

I Added more blue roses along with some green vines/leaves bleeding into the hair and throughout the roses. It feels a bit reminiscent of my ‘Belladonna’ painting what with the flowers <3

My face is a lot better than it was before. Now all I have to do is finish it…

That of course is the hardest part of painting anything.

Must.. Finish…

Love Profound – A Portrait of Bob Marley

Hope you love it! It was a joy painting him! I listened to his music 24/7 while working on this. I immersed myself into his ideals and beliefs. He was so inspirational and full of compassion for life and everyone in it. I wish more people could see life as he did, with full of love :)

The Sunflower – A Portrait of Anne Frank Progression photo #6 Not Done

The latest progression photo#6

“The Sunflower – A portrait of Anne Frank”

She’s not done yet. But I worked on this another few hours tonight. The lighting in this photo is off. But I added more highlights to her face, blouse, hair.

I also started to form the sunflowers that are surrounding her.

And I’m purposefully painting in circular brush strokes because for some reason it makes sense to me with this particular painting. I think it probably helps aid in the sensation of warm fuzzy free feelings haha :)

Goodnight!

The NeverrrrEnding Self-Portrait

Through the looking glass: Self-portrait NOT DONE lol

Now it’s been about 5 months since I started this damn painting.. 5 months?! It’s changed so very much. Tonight I did some damage to it though- in a good way!!!

I had put it away for about a month. I caught eyes with it today and decided it was time to add to the beast.

I added more light to my face. Changed my facial expression, and smile. Detailed the hair a bit more.

All I have left now are the lashes, part of mg cheek area, and a few mire loose hair strands blowing away- then I’ll be done. I’m in a rush to finish and get this reproduced for prints/and my portfolio. Not to mention I’m showing this in May?! :o lol

But..You know what that means… Once it’s reproduced, it’s finished!!! And i shall leave it alone foreverrrr!!! Hahaha ;p

It’s 3am. I’m going to put my 70+ tubes of paint away. Make a pb&j. Eat that pb&j. Then go to bed.

Goodnight!

Paint long & Prosper.

I’m going to write a long, intense version of this self-portrait painting adventure once I’m done. Complete with ever single progression photo. But until then, here’s the initial sketch :)

“The Sunflower” Portrait of Anne Frank

This is where I left off last night. Still working on her. I started this because I wanted to paint someone that made me happy. That inspired me. Anne Frank :)

I’m trying to do my very best to keep her whimsical, Alive. And my hopes are that when people look at this- they immediately feel Happy. She was such a spirit. A true symbol of Humanity :)

I’ll be posting more progress photos on here, until I finish it.

Katie of the Sea

In progress not done!
“Through the looking glass: Katie of the Sea”

This is an acrylic painting/portrait of my beautiful friend Katie.

She is a free spirit. Lives on a boat. Loves to sing and dance- and above all.. Live life :)

At this point I’m trying to mix the sky into the ocean but in a sort of ‘swirly-twirly’ kind of way haha.

I’ll post more progression photos as I go.

Two hour playtime

All I felt like doing last night was letting my mind go. Sort of like running free with paint. I started and finished this last night. I may or may not add a few strokes of turquoise for extra movement. This is more about a feeling rather than anything technical. It feels so amazing to push paint in the direction you want. I feel that I’m getting a little more brave when it comes to painting freely❤

This is a small 9x12inch oil painting on linen.

The theme is love.
